Location Summary
Located at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, this M2 system monitors activity in the vicinity of the San Diego-Scripps State Marine Conservation Area and the Matlahuayl State Marine Reserve. Along a densely populated coastline in southern California near San Diego, recreational activity is common in the area. In addition to monitoring poaching activity in the protected areas, this M2 system also provides supplemental information for potential human trafficking and smuggling events.
