  • The Marine Monitoring (M2) radar system enhances our ability to better understand visitor and vessel use in and around the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary.

Resource Protection Coordinator, Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
  • Cabo Pulmo National Park, one of the most successful marine reserves in the world, is lucky to introduce the M2 system as its new guardian. We expect to learn more about navigation and use patterns in the park, as well as to detect and deter activities that could harm the ecosystem and the economy that depends on it. M2 will help to build bridges among local users, authorities and NGOs to continue strengthening this reserve. Cabo Pulmo will serve as an M2 model site for other MPAs in México and beyond.
